Sony Ericsson & Mediaedge:CIA has partnered with RSVP, the award-winning commercial alliance between GCap Media Group, Viacom Brand Solutions and IPC Ignite to celebrate its headline sponsorship of Ibiza Rocks 2008.
The summer-long gig-frenzy has firmly established itself as a must-attend on every self-respecting party-goers schedule, and Sony Ericsson has partnered with NME and XFM through RSVP to deliver a six figure campaign to support this summer's activity.
The comprehensive campaign runs across the summer until the end of Ibiza Rocks in late September, wrapping up bespoke activity across XFM, XFM.com, NME, NME.COM and NME Mobile. And for the very first time NME will be hosting Club NME the place to catch the hottest new bands at the start of their careers in Ibiza, running every Thursday night at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel.
This year's Ibiza Rocks line-up is shaping up to be the best ever including Pigeon Detectives, The Wombats, Dizzee Rascal, We Are Scientists, Reverend & The Makers, Soulwax, The Enemy and Pendulum.
The RSVP campaign will include a series of half hour Ibiza Rocks shows from XFM every Saturday night both from Ibiza and at UK-based events including exclusive content, interview footage and live tracks from the bands. A weekly column in NME will review the hottest gigs and highlight up-coming action, while NME will also run a series of bespoke advertorials themed provided a comprehensive guide to the best of Ibiza and the UK events. Dedicated micro-channels will run on both NME.COM and XFM.co.uk containing exclusive back stage content and interviews. Both brands will also be running a series of interactive competitions to win exclusive holidays at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel and Sony Ericsson mobile phones.
The activity was developed for Sony Ericsson by Mediaedge:cia communications director Richard Amies, IPC Ignite Sponsorship & Brand Solutions manager Jonathan Boakes and GCap's Donna McCallum.
David Hilton, head of marketing for Sony Ericsson UK & Ireland says: Ibiza Rocks is one of the most important properties we are involved in and it is important for us to work with partners who can not only reach the key audience but fit so well with the Ibiza Rocks property.
Richard adds: Amplifying Ibiza Rocks back in the UK market is key to maintaining Sony Ericsson's music heritage. We've managed to build upon last year's activity and work together to create a solid format.
Jonathan adds: Ibiza Rocks has rapidly become an institution and it's great to be able to deliver the creativity, innovation and integration which are a by-word for the RSVP consortium for such a great partner.
The Ibiza Rocks with Sony Ericsson campaign runs the end of September.
